Job Summary
Logical Systems, Inc. (LSI) is seeking a highly technical MES Software Developer to design, build, integrate, and support advanced Manufacturing Execution Systems across industrial and regulated manufacturing environments. This role bridges OT and IT, combining plant-floor automation expertise (PLC, SCADA, Historians) with enterprise application integration (ERP, QMS, LIMS, analytics) to deliver real-time, scalable MES architectures.

The ideal candidate can build MES applications from the ground up, understands deterministic shop-floor communication, and can design event-driven, ISA-95 aligned systems that support production execution, traceability, quality, and operational intelligence. Experience developing validation document stacks (URS/FRS/FS/DDS/IQ/OQ/PQ) is a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities

MES Application Development
• Design, develop, configure, and maintain MES applications supporting production execution, routing, WIP, material management, genealogy, traceability, OEE, downtime, SPC/SQC, quality, batch/recipe management, and eBR.
• Develop MES runtimes and microservices using C#, .NET Core, Java, or Python.

OT–IT Integration & Industrial Connectivity
• Integrate MES with PLCs, DCS, SCADA, Historians, CMMS, LIMS, and ERP systems.
• Develop interfaces using OPC UA/DA, MQTT, Kafka, REST, gRPC, SQL, ETL pipelines, Unified Namespace (UNS).
• Engineer deterministic store-and-forward and guaranteed-delivery messaging patterns.

Data Modeling & Architecture
• Develop ISA-95 and/or ISA-88 aligned data models.
• Build and optimize SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle schemas.
• Implement transactional logic, audit trails, and event-sourced models.

Front-End Development & Visualization
• Build UI components using React, Angular, Blazor, or MES-native UIs like Ignition Perspective or Opcenter.
• Develop real-time dashboards, HMIs, and analytics.

Deployment, Validation & Operations
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, recipe validation, and plant-floor go-lives.
• Troubleshoot across the entire MES stack (PLC
SCADA Messaging MES DB ERP).
• Contribute to or oversee validation deliverables under GAMP5/CSA.

Security & Compliance
• Implement cybersecurity controls aligned with ISA/IEC 62443.
• Support compliance with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and regulated industry requirements when applicable.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on MES or manufacturing system development.
• Strong development experience with C#, .NET, Java, Python, SQL.
• OT/IT integration experience with OPC UA, MQTT, Kafka, ETLs, Unified Namespace.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and historians in production environments.

• Enterprise-grade MES services with deterministic OT connectivity.
• Version-controlled ISA-95 data models and documented architectures.
• High-quality APIs and integration schemas for OT
IT data exchange.
• Ability to develop or oversee the full validation documentation stack.
