Digital Transformation Engineers will support the design, integration, and delivery of MES, data integration, and digital manufacturing solutions for industrial clients. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical contributor who understands manufacturing processes, control systems, and shop-floor operations, and is eager to work in the higher-level ecosystem of MES, analytics, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled manufacturing solutions. In this role, you will work closely with the Digital Transformation team, project leadership, and client stakeholders to help design, configure, integrate, and deploy solutions that connect OT systems with enterprise and business systems.

Pay Range: This position pays 100k to 175k CAD. 

Location: Remote Position 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Key responsibilities for this job may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the design, implementation, and deployment of digital manufacturing, MES, and data integration solutions across various industries.
  • Contribute to pilot projects, site deployments, and multi-site rollouts, from requirements gathering and configuration through testing, deployment, and training.
  • Help define and implement solution frameworks that integrate OT systems, including PLC, SCADA, DCS, and historians, with IT and business systems such as MES, ERP, cloud platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Develop, configure, test, and document applications, integrations, reports, dashboards, and data workflows.
  • Support the development of best practices for data governance, system interoperability, and scalable solution architectures.
  • Collaborate with controls engineers, software developers, project managers, and client teams to ensure technical solutions align with operational needs.
  • Troubleshoot integration, data flow, and system performance issues across OT and IT environments.
  • Participate in client workshops, discovery sessions, and technical reviews to gather requirements and support solution development.
  • Assist with user training, documentation, and post-deployment support.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, MES, or digital manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, process control, and shop-floor workflows.
  • Experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation, particularly in SCADA, MES, MQTT, and industrial data architectures.
  • Experience integrating OT and IT systems, such as PLCs, SCADA systems, historians, MES, ERP, cloud platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL, APIs, or industrial data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with MES concepts such as OEE, production modeling, traceability, quality, batch execution, and downtime tracking.
  • Experience with PLCs, DCS, HMIs, industrial networks, and controls-level devices is a plus.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions, workflows, and system configurations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Background
  • Experience working for or with system integrators, engineering firms, consultancies, or industrial technology providers.
  • Exposure to digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing, life sciences, food and beverage, chemicals, or other industrial sectors.
  • Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing environments or standardized solution rollouts.
  • Familiarity with cloud, analytics, AI, or advanced manufacturing initiatives is a plus.
  • Experience working directly with client stakeholders, plant teams, or cross-functional project teams.
