Field Service Technicians play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing automation systems. Their responsibilities include:
- Servicing Instrumentation: Ensuring sensors and measuring devices function accurately.
- Control Valves: Maintaining valves that regulate flow and pressure within the system.
- Motors/VFDs: Working with electric motors and Variable Frequency Drives to manage speed and torque.
- Control System Electrical Design: Assisting in the design and layout of electrical components for control systems.
- PLC and DCS Configuration: Configuring Programmable Logic Controllers and Distributed Control Systems to ensure efficient operation.
By addressing these areas, technicians help ensure that automation systems operate smoothly, reliably, and in line with user requirements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Roles and responsibilities for this job may include but are not limited to:
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- PLC troubleshooting and configuration
- Perform I/O checkout on the installed control system and document the checkout results.
- Provide post-commissioning support to the client’s operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel
- Travel to the client’s site as required, with significant travel involved
- The ability to provide after-hours telephone support on a rotating schedule
Required Experience
- Degreed in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar), Computer Science, or similar scientific / technical field
Ideal Experience
- Co-op or intern experience in an Industrial environment
- Familiarity and/or coursework with basic AC and DC electric circuits
- Familiarity and/or coursework with computer programming concepts
